Roger Butts
As a Staff Chaplain in a 500-bed hospital in Colorado Springs, ROGER BUTTS is no stranger to
jumping in the middle of life’s challenges. Ordained in the Unitarian Universalist tradition nearly
20 years ago, Covid was a springboard of a different sort. In this podcast, Butts shares what this
experience taught him.
Author of the newly released book Seeds of Devotion: Weekly Contemplations on Faith,
Butts leads centering prayer groups and is a member of the International Thomas Merton
Society. He enjoys tennis, reading, and music, and his favorite drink is Cheerwine!
He loves porches and has a few favorites:
Costa Rica. Boone and China Grove, NC. His sister’s in Galesburg, IL. and of course outside
his front door in Colorado Springs.
His favorite saying: “Pray and row for shore!”
