Emma, Gracie, Sangria, and a Dance Party

Watch Emma’s and Gracie’s dance party here!

Emma Pell and Gracie Packard share their story of college, Covid, courage, dance parties, and a glass of sangria on the Porch today. Each generation experienced the beginning of covid from a different perspective. This is the story of two close friends in a foreign country trying to find their way home during the first few days of the world-wide shut down at the beginning of the global pandemic of 2020. They had no idea what they would face them when they started their study-abroad program in early 2020. This story is a bit longer than our other stories; so much impact is in this story from Emma and Gracie that we at the Porch knew we couldn’t cut anything out. We wanted to ensure you hear the full story in its entirety. We hope you enjoy the story and always remember to dance.

Emma Pell and Gracie Packard

Emma Pell and Gracie Packard

Emma Pell (she/her), a senior history student, has a knack for connecting with people. She makes friends wherever she goes, whether that be the worn paths of her family’s home or the exciting streets of Ecuador. In her free time, Emma enjoys a steaming hot morning cup of french press, accompanied by a good historical fiction book. Gracie Packard (she/her) is, above all, a lover of words. Finishing up her last semester in a very unique college experience, she is excited to continue learning outside of the classroom in her tarot and astrology studies. When not learning, you can find her hanging with her literary cats, Scout and Atticus, reading on her porch, or exploring new places.

Emma and Gracie were fast friends the (second) moment they met in college and are known to never stop laughing or talking. Together, they make sure that they embarrass all their friends by dancing through every store aisle and airport.
