Amy Porter shares her parenting story on the porch this episode. It is a story of Covid, (of course), of sweet hope and concern and a medical system that made a difference in the life of Amy, Artie and her family. Join Jill and Amy with a glass iced tea as we Celebrate Artie’s “heart-versary” with the early release of this episode.

Amy Porter
Amy Porter is a queer mother of two and a self-identified research nerd with a passion for knowledge. Amy’s pronouns are, She/Her/They/Them.
They are currently combining their love of art and history as they reading Louis Riel; a comic-strip biography by Chester Brown.
She and Jill share the love of the phrase, “the research shows”. Amy is also well known for her desire to learn more about the world and all that it has to give.
Amy’s desire to be kind and striving to be an ally to all shows up as they share their story of their sweet baby’s heart condition and life of joy. Although Amy enjoyed sharing a glass of iced coffee with Jill on our porch, one of her favorite porches is her Great Auntie Paula’s. “She had this backyard covered patio that was lush with growing flowers. She had a swing that my siblings and I loved to sit on and although the bees frightened us, swinging on that swing and eating her sweet baked items far outweighed the risk of being stung.” That is a great collective impact – we hope your life is sweet and sting free.
